Hochschule Darmstadt, Germany, short summer vacation course for the Virgin Summer University (2021/07/04-2021/07/17)
In Transition to a Pure Green Energy Agency
Important attention:
1. Participants must be referred to Hochschule Darmstadt by the International Office of the University, without permission from the International Office, without permission to file an application with the Darmstadt Application Department.
2. If only two free amounts are provided, the third is paid 100 euros each.
3. Notification: Please submit the data to the International Park by 4/19(v) 17:00 (opposite the school meal).
4. Reporting data:
(1) Application for selection for national youth participation of science and technology for short-term summer school (e.g. Annex 1)
(2) The consent of the parent or guardian (e.g. Annex 2)
(3) English personal profile
(4) Autobiography in English
(v) The English calendar (the university department is required to submit an additional annual certificate in Chinese)
(6) English Language Certificate
(7) Passport book
(8) Other favourable documents
5. Evaluation: The two top-ranked students were awarded free of charge to participate in the school, calculated according to the criteria for the exchange of student ratings for non-continental areas (e.g. Annex 3).

Course Content.
The prospects of an energy system and a whole economy relying solely on renewable energy are the focus of our virtual summer school. The International Summer University Darmstadt brings together technical and business perspectives and focuses especially on three challenges on the way towards a green energy economy:
1) Transforming supply: Technology as driver for real competitive renewable energies.
2) Transforming demand: Smart homes and smart cars for smart people.
3) Transforming business: Strategic impacts for business models.
Planned virtual site visits:
-EUREF-Campus, Berlin: A real-world ‘laboratory’ for the energy revolution with over 150 companies and startups working on the campus area with its own, innovative and CO2-neutral energy concept
-BMW Welt, Munich: BMWi exhibition: BMW’s vision of the future of mobility with pure electric vehicles and autonomous driving

Course Information and rules of study
Students can earn up to 6 ECTS for the successful completion of the module. Students are expected to attend the academic module and a tutorial every day via an online video conference system. In addition, a paper is due two weeks after the program.
Participants Participation
We welcome motivated advanced undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world with an academic background in business administration, energy management, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, civil engineering, renewable energy engineering, or related disciplines. If you have interested students from other academic disciplines, please bet in touch with me.
Fees, Nomination and Application fees and means of registration
We can offer 2 free spots per partner university. For any additional students, the program fee is 100 Euro.
Students must be nominated by their International Office and have to apply online via our website.
